Who Do you love.... no really, who?

Who do you love?

The month of February brings Valentines Day, the one day out of the year set aside to honor the person you love. Most couples can be seen on February 14th canoodling as the guy shells out money to show his affection on this very important. day. In an article found on CNN.com in 2007, men on average spend over $150 to show their love and affection just on that day alone. Does this one time offering sustain their relationship until the next time valentines day comes around? NO. Of course not. Once the love runs dry, what is holding them together?

Have you ever been in a dark place where you seem to not be able to hold on to anything? Has something happened in your life that has caused you to hit rock bottom? What do you hold on to? What keeps you from sinking? Where does your love, your trust, and your adoration lie?

If we tie ourselves to the world, what happens when things get untangled? What happens when a cord snaps or breaks loose? What are we holding on to?

Love. It's more than just a four letter word. It's more than just a holiday. It's more than just something you do once a year... or once a week. Loving God is more than just going to church and more than giving him money. He doesn't need our money. He doesn't need us.

Don't lose sight. God wants us. He loves us. He enjoys us. He draws us in. He is accessible to us. He relates to us.

So why then, do we tie ourselves up with things that do not last like God does?

9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
   two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

- Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Tie yourselves to the Lord. He will sustain you. He will pick you up. His bank account NEVER runs dry. His love NEVER runs dry. His mercy NEVER runs dry.

So, who do you love?

  2. Good job honey! Can a man forgive anyone anything if Jesus does the work. I pray that God continues to show you how to communicate his love, and all he is, to your students, without saying a religious Word.
