Beat Yo Kids!!

Proverbs 13:24(AMP): "He who spares his rod (of discipline) hates his son, but he who loves him diligently disciplines and punishes him early."

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. (Proverbs 23:13)

Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him (Proverbs 22:15).

The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother (Proverbs 29:15)

Growing up I was spanked. I use to hate it whenever I was caught doing something I wasn't suppose to do; I knew what was coming!
But spanking did teach me a few things:
1. Do NOT GET CAUGHT!!!

2. DO NOT LAUGH WHEN SIBLINGS GET SPANKED(or you will get spanked too!)

3. DO NOT LIE ABOUT DOING YOUR HOMEWORK

4. DO NOT TALK BACK!

5. WHEN YOUR TOLD TO CLEAN YOUR ROOM DO IT!

6. DO NOT RUN IT MAKES IT WORSE WHEN THEY CATCH YOU.

Time outs do not work!!! The most effective punishment was when I was spanked and had things taken away from me like, T.V, phone privileges, computer privileges(only school related work allowed), no video games, and no going to a friends house.

A new study found that spanked children may grow up happier, more successful than those who have never been hit. According to the research, children spanked up to the age of six were likely to perform better as teenagers in school and were more likely to want to go to college than their peers who had never been physically disciplined. http://pendletonpanther.wordpress.com/2010/01/07/spanked-kid/

"Seasons"

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.” Each of us is in a time and a season “under heaven.” This season must be discerned in order to make wise choices. What is your season? It may look and feel different than mine. I believe that “seasons” are a multi-level event. There is a season for an individual; a community; a region and a nation. Our world is in a “season.” Knowing what each one of these looks like will help us to determine the appropriate course of action for our lives. Is it a time of war or peace? Regardless of which season it is, as long as it is “under heaven” and on this side of eternity, it is hevel—temporary. So if the going is tuff "this too shall pass!" If everything is great, don't get too comfortable. Habel, habalim! Regardless of which season it is, God is sovereign. Life is a string of seasons that are both negative and positive in circumstance, much like war and peace, all of which God is a part. He is present in every one of them, guiding us through if we can only trust him. He is active in them and forming us through them. We must remember to “take the good with the bad.” Job said in the worst season of his life “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21). “Fear the Lord” in your seasons and enjoy the work He has given you to do in them. Enjoy the blessings of today no matter what season you are in for this is your portion. Eccl.7:14 “In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.”

MLK- Viergelie's Post

Wisdom literature touches on all issues that explore the meaning of life. God understands things that man is incapable of of understanding. In First Corinthians 1:25, Paul said, "Because the foolishness of God is wiser than man, and the weakness of God is stronger than men." Martin Luther King Jr. remains the single most powerful determinant in the American Civil Right Movement. His basic message was a simple one: "To my children... for whom I dream that one day soon they will no longer be judged by the color of of their skin but by the content of their character.
Martin Luther King's wisdom helped him to win the victory he believed that right behavior leads to right consequences. He was a wise man who made a difference . Proverbs 8:17 says to seek wisdom diligently. In the book of David, it says loving wisdom involves discipline of the heart. Now a days, we credit others for being wise but a wise person is the one who fear God and trust in Him no matter what. How wise are you if you don't fear God. In the book of John, it says that the word becomes flesh. One needs to chew the word of God well and must let it dwell in you for the purpose of the word becoming a part of you. In Proverbs 13:10 it says, "Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice." Martin Luther King had such a hope to see all people no judged by the external. He knew that it was better to humble. He marched in peace. He didn't want violence and was always for peace. Proverbs says that listening to wisdom is to live or gain an abundant life. As wise Christians, He obeyed the wisdom of God because of that, he succeeded.

To Live Doesnt Mean Your Alive!!!

Ecclesiastes 7:14-15

When times are good be happy, but when times are bad consider God has made the one as well as the other, therefore, a man cannnot discover anything about his future. In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these a righteous man perishing in his righteousness and a wicked man living long in his wickedness.
In life people are faced with trials and tribulations in which may result in us making human mistakes that are considered ungodly. God places people and things in our life for a various reasons. Many stay for a season and many come to teach us lessons. God gives us things but he doesnt enable us to use them, its up to us to figure out the appropriate ways in which to use the pleasures of life, because at the end of it all everything in life is meaningless, if its not to glorify the Lord.
Because many people fall short of God's callings and become consumed into the negatives of the world doesnt mean his or her life is destined for failure, no man nor woman can predetermine someone else fate only God can. Many of us fall short of hearing what God has to say to us but God doesnt stop speaking.
Louisiana prison gives inmates a chance to earn ministry degrees. "Angola is commonly known for holdng some of the worse criminals in New Orleans. Derrick like many other prisoners said " I ran from my calling all my life. But i like to put it like this God finds people wherever they go." Derrick says he heard God's call early. He only wishes he'd answered sooner. By the time he did he was serving a life sentence for murder.
At Angola God has been finiding men reguarly. So far about 150 of them have earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and another 100 are on track to graduate.
EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS MEANINGLESS!!!!! Life isnt always smooth sailing there will be bad as well as good but as long as we learn that our goal in life is to glorify God then our mission is complete.
"If you dont live for something, you'll die for nothing"!!!!!

Enjoy Life's Pleasures

Ecclesiastes 2:22-25
22 What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun?
23 All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.
24 A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God,
25 for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?

Judgment Day!

Ecclesiates 3:17

17 I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time to judge every deed.”
